How to use this for your own store

Common questions

Where does this data come from?

Every Shopify store publishes its catalogue at /products.json: product titles, tags, publish dates, prices and compare-at prices. We read the newest 1,000 products of each store on two dates and compare them. Nothing here comes from a login, an ad library or an estimate.

What counts as a product going on sale?

A product that was in both reads and had no compare-at price the first time, but has one higher than its price the second time. Products that only appear in one read are counted as new, never as a new sale, so a store simply showing us a different slice of its catalogue cannot inflate the numbers.

What do the BFCM tags mean?

Some stores label products in their public feed with tags such as "bfcm-unpublished-26" or "blackfriday". We report the tag exactly as it appears and how many products carry it. What the store intends to do with those products is for them to say; we do not guess.

Can I get this for my own competitors?

Yes. Promolexa does the same weekly read for the stores you choose, emails you only when something changed, and drafts an email and social post to answer it. One competitor is free; it even suggests rival stores from your own products.

Promolexa reads the stores you pick every week, emails you only when something moved, and drafts the counter-campaign. It suggests rival stores from your own products, and one competitor is free.
